Hong Kong
We are a technology consultancy delivering digital analytics, customer data, and marketing technology projects for well-known consumer and e-commerce brands across Asia Pacific and Europe.
We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to take ownership of client requirements and project coordination across a portfolio of data and analytics accounts. You will typically hold two to four accounts at a time, and the mix changes as projects start and finish.
This is a client-facing, analytical role focused on bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. On your accounts, you will lead discovery sessions, document business requirements, write technical specifications, and manage the client relationship to ensure projects stay on track. While your primary focus is on analysis and client management, you will also have the opportunity to participate in hands-on solution development, either by configuring platforms yourself or by partnering closely with our developers and engineers.
If you enjoy speaking with clients, translating their business challenges into actionable data requirements, and guiding a project from discovery to successful delivery, this role will suit you.
Client Management and Requirements Gathering
Serve as the primary operational and business contact for your accounts.
Run discovery sessions to gather requirements. Lead the conversation, ask the right questions to uncover business objectives, and document clear requirements for tracking, analytics, and data platforms.
Translate business requirements into clear measurement plans, event definitions, tracking specifications, and acceptance criteria for engineers and client developers.
Keep the open-items list moving. Follow up with clients, agencies, and third-party vendors to ensure questions are answered and blockers are removed.
Project Coordination and Delivery
Track timelines, milestones, risks, and decisions across concurrent workstreams. Identify and escalate potential delays early.
Provide engineers and architects with the context, access, and specific requirements they need to build the solution efficiently.
Write clearly and professionally. Produce project status updates for client stakeholders and record key decisions for future reference.
Conduct structured Quality Assurance (QA) and validate that the developed solutions meet the documented business requirements before launch.
Solution Development (Hands-on and Collaborative)
Collaborate with developers on the implementation of web and e-commerce analytics, primarily GA4 and Google Tag Manager.
When required, assist in configuring GA4 properties, Google Tag Manager containers, and customer engagement platforms.
Support data validation and debugging to ensure data accuracy end-to-end.
The balance of this role leans heavily toward communication, requirement gathering, and coordination, with opportunities for hands-on technical work. In a given month you would expect to:
Run multiple client or agency calls to gather requirements or provide project updates.
Write or revise a tracking specification based on a client discovery session.
Send written status updates covering what is done, what is blocked, and who owns the next step.
Update an open-items tracker and follow up with stakeholders for answers.
Brief an engineer or developer so they understand the business context and technical requirements.
Work through a QA checklist against a staging site to ensure the data tracking matches the specification.
Occasionally log into Google Tag Manager or GA4 to configure tags, triggers, or reports, and validate the data.
Client and Analytical Skills
Direct client communication. You are comfortable leading client meetings, clarifying vague requests, managing expectations, and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements gathering. You can turn a wide-ranging business conversation into a structured specification that developers can easily follow.
Self-directed follow-through. You are organized, keep track of commitments, and proactively chase down answers to keep projects moving.
Language Proficiency. Professional written and spoken English, at a standard suited to leading client meetings and working with stakeholders in Europe. Additionally, professional proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is required for regional client work.
Technical Familiarity
Understanding of data and analytics. You understand the fundamental concepts of web analytics, event tracking, and digital marketing.
Familiarity with GA4 and Google Tag Manager. While you do not need to be a technical architect, you should understand how these platforms work conceptually and be willing to learn the basics of configuration.
Spreadsheet fluency. Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel to organize data and produce readable outputs for clients.
Experience and Education
1 to 3 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Project Coordinator, or similar client-facing role, with proven, hands-on experience delivering data-centric projects (such as digital analytics, customer data platforms, data migrations, or marketing technology implementations).
Bachelor's degree in a business, analytics, information systems, marketing, or computing field, or equivalent practical experience.
None of these are required, but please highlight any you possess:
Hands-on experience configuring Google Analytics 4 or Google Tag Manager.
Familiarity with e-commerce platforms like Shopify.
Understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or dataLayer concepts.
Experience with customer engagement platforms (e.g., Zendesk, Intercom) or project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
We would rather be upfront, so you can decide before applying.
This role suits you if you love organizing projects, speaking with clients, translating business needs into data solutions, and prefer a balance of project management and business analysis with the option to get technical.
This role may not suit you if you are looking for a highly technical, heads-down developer role, if you dislike client communication and follow-ups, or if you prefer to avoid the project management side of delivery.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Performance bonus linked to delivery quality and client satisfaction.
Professional development budget for platform certifications and training.
Hybrid working arrangements.
Direct exposure to recognized international brands and to senior client stakeholders.
A clear progression path toward Senior Business Analyst, Implementation Consultant, or Project Manager.
Standard benefits and statutory entitlements per your location.
Introductory call, approximately 30 minutes.
Capability and delivery interview with the hiring manager.
A short practical exercise, around 45 minutes, reviewing a sample client scenario and requirement gathering task.
Final conversation and offer.
A cover note is optional, but if you include one, the most useful thing you can tell us is about a time you successfully managed a difficult client requirement or project blocker.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of age, gender, marital or family status, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Hiring decisions are based on capability and fit for the role.
