Key responsibilities
Map and document interfaces between legacy and new systems, ensuring seamless integration and efficient data transfer.
Perform various software development lifecycle tasks, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
Develop innovative solutions and undertake product development.
Create and maintain comprehensive testing documentation for complete systems, ensuring rigorous quality control and adherence to project timelines.
Produce user manuals for users of new systems, facilitating smooth adoption and maximizing system utilization.
Requirements
Core Technical Expertise
Proven track record in designing, developing, and maintaining robust RESTful APIs, web services, and system interfaces (XML/JSON).
Strong programming proficiency across Java, PHP, Python, SQL, and Shell Scripting.
Deep, versatile SQL proficiency across various relational database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Sybase, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server), with expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, data migration, and complex system integration.
Enterprise Systems
Solid experience in application development, enhancement, and production support for enterprise systems, with strong preference for Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions.
Hands-on proficiency with PeopleTools, including Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Component Interface, Integration Broker, and PeopleSoft Query.
Familiarity with BI Publisher, Process Scheduler, and enterprise batch processing workflows.
Tools & Infrastructure
Working knowledge of modern deployment and productivity tools, including Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, and automated testing frameworks.
Familiarity with specialized technologies (e.g., PowerBuilder) or modern enterprise platforms (e.g., J2EE application servers (IBM WAS), Microsoft Power Platform).
Domain Knowledge & Soft Skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system troubleshooting capabilities.
Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience within the higher education sector or with Student Information Systems (SIS) is a distinct advantage.
