Hong Kong
We are a technology consultancy delivering digital analytics, customer data, and marketing technology projects for well-known consumer and e-commerce brands across Asia Pacific and Europe.
We are looking for an Implementation Consultant to take ownership of delivery on a portfolio of client accounts. You will typically hold two to four accounts at a time, and the mix changes as projects start and finish.
This is a hands-on consulting role rather than an in-house analytics seat. On your accounts you run the discovery, write the specification, configure the platform, validate that it works, and keep the client and their agencies moving toward decisions. Senior architects support you on the hard technical calls and engineers build alongside you, but the account is yours to drive.
The work spans two areas. The first is web and e-commerce analytics implementation, primarily GA4 and Google Tag Manager on platforms such as Shopify, including advertising conversion tracking across multiple countries and ad platforms. The second is customer engagement and support platform work, including configuration, automation, reporting, and migrations between platforms.
If you enjoy being the person a client calls because you know their setup better than anyone else, this role will suit you.
Configure GA4 properties and Google Tag Manager containers, including events, parameters, triggers, variables, conversions, and consent handling.
Work in client storefront code where needed, typically theme markup, dataLayer, and custom pixels.
Implement advertising conversion tracking across platforms such as Meta and Google Ads, including multi-market setups where different countries route to different ad accounts.
Write the measurement plans, event definitions, tracking specifications, and acceptance criteria that engineers and client developers build against.
Debug and validate rigorously. Verify events end to end, run structured QA before and after launch, and keep issue logs current.
Set up and refine workspaces, automation, workflows, routing rules, AI agents, and reporting in platforms such as Intercom or Zendesk.
Support platform migrations, including data mapping, rationalising legacy automation, import validation, and cutover readiness.
Produce user guidance so client teams can handle routine changes themselves.
Serve as the primary operational contact for your accounts across tracking, reporting, access, and platform questions.
Run discovery sessions. Lead the conversation, ask the questions that surface what the client has not yet considered, and leave with documented requirements and a named owner against every dependency.
Keep the open-items list moving. Chase clients, their agencies, and third-party vendors until questions are answered. Projects stall on unanswered questions more often than on technical difficulty, so this is genuinely valuable work.
Track timelines, milestones, risks, and decisions across concurrent workstreams, and raise slippage while it is still recoverable.
Give engineers and architects the access, examples, decisions, and context they need before they have to ask.
Write clearly. Produce updates a client can forward to their own management, and record decisions so they still make sense six months later.
Contribute to feasibility assessments, effort estimates, and proposals for new work.
The balance of this role is easier to understand through examples than a responsibilities list. In a given month you would expect to:
Run four to eight client or agency calls, most of which you lead.
Write or revise a tracking specification, then answer the developer questions it generates.
Configure tags and triggers in a container and test them until the data is correct.
Work through a QA checklist against a staging or newly launched site and log what failed.
Update an open-items tracker and follow up with the people who owe you answers.
Configure automation or reporting in a support platform and document it for the client.
Send a written status update covering what is done, what is blocked, and who owns the next step.
Brief an engineer so they can build without waiting on you.
Roughly half the role is hands-on configuration and validation. The other half is communication and coordination. Both matter equally.
Hands-on GA4 and Google Tag Manager. You have configured these, not only reported from them. You can explain how an event travels from a page interaction to a report, and debug it when it does not arrive. We will ask you to walk us through a real example from your own work.
Event tracking fundamentals. Practical understanding of dataLayer, event taxonomy, parameters, and tracking plans.
Comfort reading front-end code. You do not need to be a developer. You do need to open a page's source or a theme template, find a tracking snippet, understand what it does, and modify it carefully.
Spreadsheet fluency. Google Sheets and Excel to a standard where you can organise messy data and produce output a client will read.
Direct client ownership. You have held a client or stakeholder relationship yourself, rather than supporting a senior colleague who held it. You can clarify a vague request, push back on an unreasonable one, and reset an expectation before it becomes a complaint.
Self-directed follow-through. You keep track of your own commitments and other people's, and you chase the ones that go quiet without being reminded.
Clear written requirements. You can turn a wide-ranging business conversation into a specification precise enough that a developer builds the right thing first time.
Professional English. Written and spoken, at a standard suited to leading client meetings and working with stakeholders in Europe.
3 or more years in digital analytics implementation, marketing technology or platform consulting, implementation or solutions delivery, technical account management, or a comparable client-facing delivery role.
Bachelor's degree in a business, analytics, information systems, marketing, or computing field, or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrated hands-on capability matters more to us than the degree.
None of these are required. Tell us about any you have.
Professional Mandarin or Cantonese, which is an advantage for regional client work.
E-commerce platform experience, particularly Shopify, including theme markup, metafields, custom pixels, or multi-market storefronts.
Advertising conversion tracking experience: Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Google Ads conversions, or multi-market pixel routing.
Customer engagement platform experience such as Intercom or Zendesk.
Customer data platform exposure such as Segment.
SQL, APIs, or data integration and migration work.
Consent management, or familiarity with GDPR, PDPA, or similar privacy regimes.
Certifications in Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or comparable platforms.
We would rather be upfront, so you can decide before applying.
This role suits you if you like owning something end to end, you are comfortable being the visible face of a vendor relationship, and you get satisfaction from tracking that is correct and provable rather than approximately right.
This role may not suit you if you are looking for a data science or statistical modelling position, if you would prefer to coordinate projects without working in the platforms yourself, or if you would rather focus on one product deeply than work across several client accounts.
Competitive salary based on experience.
Performance bonus linked to delivery quality and client satisfaction.
Professional development budget for platform certifications and training.
Hybrid working arrangements.
Direct exposure to recognised international brands and to senior client stakeholders, at a level of responsibility that is difficult to reach at a larger firm.
A clear progression path toward Senior Implementation Consultant and then Solution Architect or Engagement Lead.
Standard benefits and statutory entitlements per your location.
Introductory call, approximately 30 minutes.
Technical and delivery interview with the hiring manager.
A short practical exercise, around 45 minutes, reviewing a sample tracking implementation. We use this because it is a fair reflection of the actual work.
Final conversation and offer.
A cover note is optional, but if you include one, the most useful thing you can tell us is a tracking or platform problem you diagnosed and fixed, and how you worked out what was wrong. That tells us more than a list of tools.
We are an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of age, gender, marital or family status, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Hiring decisions are based on capability and fit for the role.
If you need any adjustment to the application or interview process, tell us and we will arrange it.
